Common cases

I am not getting reminders

Reminders are system notifications. Check under Settings → Notifications → ReptiCare, whether notifications are allowed. An active Focus mode or Do Not Disturb will hold them back too. And only what is marked “Send reminder” on the appointment is sent at all.

How do I back up my data?

The data sits on your device. On iPhone, iPad and Mac it is, if iCloud is enabled, synchronised with your other Apple devices through your private iCloud area. On Android, Google’s device backup, if switched on, includes the entries, but not photos and documents. On both systems you can export a backup file in the app’s settings free of charge and read it back in, on Android optionally with photos and documents. The app only reads in a backup with more than two animals with Pro. With Pro, the development records can also be exported as CSV and individual animals as a PDF dossier. On the iPhone, before changing device it is worth looking at Settings → iCloud, so that synchronisation actually runs.

The data does not appear on my second device

Synchronisation runs through iCloud. Both devices must be signed in to the same Apple ID, iCloud Drive must be on and ReptiCare must be permitted in the iCloud settings. After the first launch, synchronisation takes some time depending on the volume of data, and needs a stable internet connection.

Pro was purchased but is not unlocked

Open More → Settings → ReptiCare Pro and tap “Restore purchases”. It matters that you are signed in with the same Apple ID or the same Google account used for the purchase. If that does not help, send me the receipt: I will look into it.

I want to change the language

Under More → Settings → Language you can choose German, French, Italian or English, plus the system language. The app restarts after the change.

The morph calculator is not showing what I expect

The calculator handles one trait according to Mendel’s rules. For combinations, calculate each trait separately and multiply the probabilities. Sex-linked traits are not covered.
